Rare and very interesting item for antique dolls collectors - "German Huret" with artfully painted features.
Bisque socket head with rounded facial modeling, painted blue eyes with black eyeliner and delicately painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, mohair wig, moulded ears, solid domed head with uncoloured or glazed pate, remains of brown mohair wig, gusseted kid body with wooden jointed shoulders and pink tinted china arms, original boned two-part oatmeal figured silk with a Burgundy thread woven through, Burgundy silk satin rouched stomacher, cuffs, collar, panel and swags inserts, lace trim to cuff and skirt, matching hat, underclothes, black leather boots.
Condition: generally excellent, her bisque free of hairline, restoration, any damages. The body in good condition.
Germany, circa 1870, possibly Alt, Beck and Gottschalk, the model is known as the "German Huret" for its resemblance to that French doll.
