Early French Bisque Poupee Doll with Painting Cobalt Blue Eyes and Original Nun's Habit
Pale bisque shoulder head with plump face, painted cobalt blue eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, original firmly-stuffed cloth poupee body with shapely kid torso and one-piece limbs. Very good condition, her bisque free of hairline, restoration or any damages. The sleeves stitched on the hands, I did not removed it, but I think the left hand stuffed a little less them right hand. Very beautifully- preserved poupee with provenance, with gorgeous bisque and eyes,is wearing her original multi- layered nun's habit of blue wool and cotton, woolen petticoats, rosary. The doll has a provenance with note from french family. She was donated by sister of abbey St.Vincent de Paul to little girl that was born in 1860. 14" (36 cm) tall. French, circa 1860, Barrois. P.S. The doll has her antique off white original chemise, I forgot to put it in the picture with clothes. I do a layaway. Please email me if you have any questions or need extra photos.
