Pale bisque swivel head on bisque shoulder plate with deposed neck articulation system allowing the head to tilt side-to-side as well as the traditional swivel,cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes,feathered brows, accented nostrils,closed mouth with pale accented lips,ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, original leather body with shapely torso.
Marks: Vtr CLEMENT Solidite Garante (green stamp on torso). Very beautiful poupee wearing lovely antique blue checkered muslin dress, original straw hat, an original white muslin blouse, original underwear, blue vintage leather shoes and vintage blond mohair wig. 17 1/2" (44 cm) tall. PARIS, Pierre-Victor Clement,circa 1867. VERY RARE! Condition: Good condition to age. The bisque head has an invisible restored hairline on the forehead (you can see it ONLY under the strong light). Pierre-Victor Clement was born in Pont Allos in 1828. First, he wanted to devote himself th the shoes repairing job. After having made his apprenticeship and after his military service, for several years, he went to Paris. After some years he set up his own business, a workshop located at the north of Paris, near Pigalle. In 1866 Pierre Victor Clement filed a patent without drawings, concerning : “play dolls with stamped kid leather bodies”. In 1867 he added one supplement to his patent. Victor Clement recommended a Parisienne doll body entirely molded in leather, better than gutta-percha , material which “after a long time crumbles into dust”. I DO A LAYAWAY. Shipping from France.
