15" (38 cm) Rare German Bisque Character Baby Doll, 1294, by Simon & Halbig with Clockwork Flirty Eyes
Bisque socket head, large blue glass eyes that "flirt" from the clockwork mechanism hidden inside head, and rare eye mechanism that functions well. Long painted curly lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, superior luminous patina of bisque, deeply sculpted features, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth with outlined lips, tongue, original mohair bobbed wig, original composition bent limb baby body, original body finish. Has all fingers and toes.He is wearing antique original costume and satchel.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1294 Simon & Halbig Made in Germany 36.
This is a rare baby with an exquisite face, very hard to find. A gorgeous and important addition to your antique doll collection!
