Bisque swivel head with characteristic elongated bulbous throat, plump cheek modeling on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, fringed brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with upturned lip corners, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, cork pate. Early rare Louis Arnaud wooden fully-articulated body of 1866 which was a durable hollow wooden body that copied the shape of the Huret gutta percha body, and was designed to serve that market (please look The Huret Book by Francois and Danielle Theimer, page 260 and copy of this page on the last photos).
French, Adelaide Huret, circa 1866. An outstanding poupee whose rarity and beautiful outfit is enhanced, simply, by her beautiful presence. She is wearing antique original white pique enfantine dress, original straw hat, underwear, socks and vintage leather shoes. 17 1/2" (45cm) tall. CONDITION: good condition, her bisque free of hairline and any damages, the wooden body has original finish, good condition, the right thumb has a partial loss (please see photo).
