Antique German Pull-toy "The Jester doll and Performing Bear" by Zinner & Sohne

Especially charming scene and movements!
Standing upon a wooden platform is a bisque head doll with brown glass eyes, open mouth, tiny teeth, blonde mohair wig, wooden torso and lower limbs, wire upper arms and legs, and wearing original rose silk jester costume with lace trim, matching hat, holding a violin in the hands. Posed on a wooden stool with circle in front of the clown is a plush-covered bear with cap and small bell, and when wound, the jester waves arms up and down, as though playing on violin, and rings the bell, while the circle (and hence bear) twirls around.
The doll head marked S&H 1909 11/0 Germany
(Simon&Halbig).

Condition: generally excellent.

Germany, Zinner & Sohne, circa 1890.

15" (38 cm.) h. 4" x 10 1/4" (10 x 26 cm.) base.
