Very Rare Antique French Bisque Portrait Poupee with Smiling Expression from Eugene Barrois

Pale bisque shoulderhead of adult woman with slender face,elongated throat with defined throat hollow, oval-shaped cobalt cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,short feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with up-tilted lip corners forming a piquant smile,accented lips,pierced ears, mohair wig over cork pate,French kid gusset-jointed body, beautiful dress, undergarments, stockings, vintage leather shoes.
Very rare exquisite portrait model with distinctive expression and flawless delicately tinted pale bisque.

Condition: generally excellent.

Marks: E 2 Depose B. (shoulderplate)
French, Eugene Constant Barrois, circa 1865, the doll is considered by some to be a portrait of beloved Empress Eugenie. An identical model is shown in The Encyclopedia of French Dolls, page 50.
