Standing upon a velvet covered platform is a bisque-head doll with large brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, lushly painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, carton torso and legs, wire upper arms, bisque forearms, and wearing her original silk and lace costume, net stockings, silk red shoes, fancy bonnet.
The little girl appears to hold a covered wicker basket (which is actually attached by hollow metal rod to her torso) that is decorated with flowers. When wound, she lifts her right hand to sniff the flowers she holds, then opens the basket lid with her other hand to show more flowers, but also reveals a tiny feathered bird that arises from its hiding nest and flutters back and forth, while music plays. Charming automaton highlighted by beautiful dramatic large brown eyes bebe is well-preserved and has endearing "surprise" movements. Condition: generally excellent. Her bisque free of hairline, restoration or any damages. The bisque hands in excellent condition. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 4 (head). 1 Air "Polka" (paper tune label on base underside). FRENCH, Leopold Lambert, circa 1890. 20" (51 cm.) You can see short VIDEO here - https://youtu.be/cH3BVOSf8es I DO A LAYAWAY Please email me if you have any questions or need more photos.
