Standing upon a brown velvet-covered wooden base with wooden ball feet, is a bisque-head doll with large blue glass eyes, painted features, closed mouth, blonde mohair wig, carton torso and legs, bisque arms.
She is wearing her original silk dotted dress and she holds the string to a small cloth Polichinelle in one hand in which also holds the head from that figure, and a hankie in the other. The Polichinelle is costumed in traditional two-color silk jester suit with matching hat. The little girl contemplates her broken favorite toy, holding the ripped-off head in her hand while he lies on the floor below her. Seeking to rescue the toy, she raises her left arm and head slightly raises from the attached string. She bows her head, and lifts the hankie to her eyes three times, as though to wipe away the tears. The doll is marked "F.G." in scroll shape and number 1. 15" (38cm) tall. CONDITION: Movement working very well. Music plays. The head has hairline on the forehead, this is visible ONLY under strong light. The part of thumbs on the right hand is missing.
