FRENCH BISQUE "L'INTREPIDE BEBE" EMILE JUMEAU, 1ST VERSION,KEYWIND MECHANISM

Bisque socket head, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted curly lashes, brush-stroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, human hair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden body, mechanism in torso with winding key L.B. (Lambert) at the side, kid-over wooden hinged thighs causing the doll to "walk" when wound.
Very pretty bebe with rare body style, wearing lovely original silk and lace dress, bonnet, undergarments, socks and vintage leather shoes.
Condition: generally excellent, mechanism functions well.

French, Emile Jumeau, circa 1890, the earliest first version of "L'Intrepide Bebe" marketed as "marchant mecanique" with clockworks by Leopold Lambert.
