Very rare and unusual all original old automaton! Standing upon a wooden platform with decorative paper covers are two two fur-covered papier mache poodles with amber glass eyes. One at the piano and de second holding the notes for singing. When wound, the poodle plays the piano, his paws appear to play the piano, as head turn and rises to the emitted music. The other poodle lowers and raises his head over notes, and his tail moves.
Very good working condition, rare and entertaining toy which functions well.
Measures 11 1/2" (29 cm.) length, 9" (22.5cm) height and 8" (20 cm) wide.
France, c,1870.
