18" (46 cm.) Posed upon a velvet-covered wooden base is a bisque-head doll with blue glass paperweight inset eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate,carton torso and legs, bisque forearms.
When wound,the doll turns her head from side to side,nods as though sniffing the flowers she holds,and then fans herself, music plays. Condition: generally excellent,mechanism functions well. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 4 with artist checkmark (head). Leopold Lambert with commissioned bisque head from Jumeau,circa 1890. Wonderful condition of the automaton and costume which comprises lace dress and bonnet, fan, flowers, matching silk slippers,original Jumeau earrings.
