Rare early grodnertal doll has wooden head with red mouth, grey-blue eyes, some traces of age in face, black painted modelled hairstyle: hair is combed back, hairstyle is covered by a big original Welsh hat made of black felt, wood joints-body with 8 joints, slim waist, spine for plug head, carved forearm and hands, carved lower legs and feet, feet in sewed on rough leather shoes, doll is fixed on the original wood base, typical clothes for Pedlar dolls, multilayered thick clothes, hawker basket is richly equipped with a number of everyday objects from that period: yarn bobbin, ball of wool, cutlery, small needle book, playing cards, cube, and more.

Good condition to age.

Grodnertal, circa 1835, the peddler presentation was created for the English market. Desirable early wooden doll is heightened by presentation with original early notions.
