21" (54 cm.) Antique German Bisque Mein Liebling doll, Model 117n by Kammer and Reinhardt

Very pretty rosy - cheeked girl with original dress and hat. Bisque socket head, blue glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brush-stroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, outlined lips, four teeth, human hair original wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique original fully hand stitched red cotton dress with off-white embroidery, original underwear, socks and shoes, silk wire framed hat.

THOSE RARE "NAUGHTY EYES"… In 1920, K&R trademarked a mechanism that, for a change, would NOT allow the eyes to sleep! Hence, a 'naughty child' might not close it's eyes when put to bed. Depending on the position of the head, a retractable metal rod in the 'sleep / lock' mechanism within the head slides into place to lock the eyes either open or closed! Very few of the 117n dolls had this mechanism and even fewer still survive today, and her's works! That's rare.

Condition: generally excellent. Her bisque free of hairline or any damages. The body has original painting.
21" (54 cm.) tall.
Germany, Kammer and Reinhardt, circa 1912.
