12" (30 cm.) Antique German Bisque Three-Faced Doll by Carl Bergner in Original Costume, with presentation box

Bisque socket head with three alternate faces. One depicting a smiling happy child with chocolate brown glass eyes, open closed mouth, nicely painted with finely painted upper and lower lashes, and nice cheek color with dimples character type brows.
The second a crying child with chocolate brown glass eyes,and modeled glass tear,a very unusual character face, very expressive sad open/closed mouth, great cheek color.
The third a sleeping child with modeled closed eyelids; the head is enclosed in a carton hood which disguises the two faces not presently being shown,paper-mache shoulder plate,carton torso with pull-string mama crier (don't working!),composition and wooden fully-jointed arms and legs. The body has stitch jointing so that it can easily sit. The head rotates well.
The doll and hood come with the original mohair wig.

Very fine all original condition,the doll is presented,virtually unplayed with,in her original lace, dress, superb bonnet, stockings and with presentation box.

12" (30 cm.) tall.

Marked on the back of the shoulder plate with, CB in a circle, which strands for Carl Bergner.

Condition - generally excellent. No damage and no repair.
