The armoire 23 1/2" (60 cm.) tall (including the top), 11 1/2" (29 cm) wide and 6" (15 cm) depth. The doll 12" ( 30 cm) tall. Wooden armoire with fancy crest, single mirrored front door, single bottom drawer, ball feet, original working key.
The inside door has an original label "Trousseau for Bebes" indicating the proper 65 elements for a bebe, all original! At the left side is a bisque-head doll with glass eyes,open mouth,blonde mohair wig,five piece French composition body,wearing original chemise dress with lace and aqua ribbons, bonnet, woven blue socks, leather off white shoes. The doll by Fleischmann and signed 4/0. The armoire a well-fitted and decorated with gold paper interior, tied with original silk ribbons,including linens,patterned napkins,and other fabrics, Porcelain Toiletries Doll Bowl and Pitcher. The long bottom drawer with accessories including brush,soap,powder puff and others. A remarkable and well-preserved early toy as seen in French department store Etrennes catalogs of the 1890 era. The armoire was presented and offered offered in three sizes, this being the largest and most luxurious of the models. This is a play model to teach young girls about a properly fitted home.
