Superb German Bisque Lady Doll with Elaborate Brown Hair and Sculpted Bodice.
17" (43 cm.) Bisque shoulder head of lady doll by C.F. Kling, circa 1870. She has slightly-rounded oval face, strong throat, pale complexion, brown sculpted hair arranged with two clusters of tiny ringlet curls at the forehead centered by a sculpted rose, and then drawn behind the pierced ears with original earrings into a large looped chignon, blue painted eyes, delicately painted brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, and having a very fancy sculpted and painted bodice with stand-up ruffled collar edged with white beading and white and blue painted trim to simulate lace. She has an original muslin stitch-jointed body in excellent condition, wooden palms, original red-brown boots, lovely original two part costume. The doll has number 40 5 at the back of the shoulder plate, black "2" at the back pf the body and two of the fabric stamps on her legs, but I can not to read it. Very rare model whose rarity factors include brown hair and exceptional detail of modeled bodice. Condition very good, but the doll has restoration at the plate under the dress!
