7" Rare Antique Original french L'INCROYABLE Mignonette on the box, with moves

Rare and very nice "INCROYABLE" Mignonette doll on the round cardboard box. The doll in the shape of an incroyable placed on the top.
Animated when pressed, bisque head and arms, closed mouth, blue inset enamel eyes. Moves his right arm when pressed, his cane is missing. Original carboard body and original silk costume.
Very good condition to age.
Height - 7" (18 cm).
Paris, circa 1880.
Thos Mignonette representing L'Incroyable,a fashionable movement of the late 18th century in which rebellious young men appeared in highly exaggerated and outrageous costume,such as the striped socks on this example. Known as Les Incroyables (the incredible ones),the name came to signify the entire rebellious movement of the time.
