Here's a really wonderful papier-mache doll with great appeal. She is on her original cloth body with papier mache lower arms. Her head has the original finish with minimal surface wear for this type of doll.
The label on the back of the shoulder plate is marked: M & S Superior 2015". According to the Coleman's encyclopedia, these may have been made by Muller & Strassberger of the Sonneberg region. She has black patent stamps on the legs with date 1874 year. Her muslin body in excellent condition, she has an original leather boots with buttons (one button on has been missed). She has blonde molded curls in 1860s style, tapered eyebrows, blue painted eyes with red eyelid line and lower dotted eyelash line, closed mouth, rosy cheeks (light wear); original cloth body with unusual papier-mache hands, sewn-on leather boots. She is wearing her original underwear. The silk dress made of antique fabric. Please email me if you have any questions.
