19" RARE EXTREMELY ATTRACTIVE ASIAN BISQUE GERMAN DOLL

19" RARE EXTREMELY ATTRACTIVE ASIAN BISQUE GERMAN DOLL FOR FRENCH MARKET, with French stamps on the lady type body.

Simon & Halbig doll incised "S&H 1099 Dep 7 1/2" with olive tinted bisque with arched eyebrows, almond shaped eye cuts slanted upward, brown glass sleep eyes, open mouth with four upper teeth, pierced ears, on original French fully articulated wood and composition lady body with straight wrists!

Costume consists of a two piece multicolored silk floral brocade costume with embroidered ribbon trim, high collar with brass button, antique leather shoes and the original soft dark mohair wig pulled back into a long queue. Her costume fully hand stitched!

SIZE: 19" (48cm). CONDITION: Excellent with several craze marks on fingers and minor age wear to body.
The doll has her original earrings, but one blue blue stone from old frame has been missing.

Stamped on the torso "LA PATRICIENNE DEPOSE" and "E.D.B" on the back.

Trade name of a doll manufactured from 1905 to 1908, registered by Edmond Daspres,the successor to the Jules Nicolas Steiner firm (after Mettais' tenure). The doll bears the initials of its manufacturer - E.D.B. The model was presented in most cases with a head by Simon&Halbig, made for french market. Daspres preferred to order his heads directly from Germany.
The french word PATRICIAN in ancient Roman times the founder of Rome. In the broader extension of the modern meaning, it referred to nobility in general.
