This is a really charming early fashion doll! Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eyecut, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with pale outlined lips, pierced ears, original blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French stretched-leather-over-wooden fashion body with shapely waist and derriere, dowel-jointed shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, wooden legs from below the knees, wooden arms from below elbows.
She has Paris store label "A LA PETITE AMAZONE 5, BOULEVARD DES ITALIENS, PARIS". The shop is listed in the Paris directory in the 1870s. Dolls wearing this label are rarely seen. Usually high end dolls and accessories. France, circa 1870. 17 1/2" (45 cm). tall. Rare body style on the beautiful early poupee with wonderful pink taffeta gown, original undergarments, original leather boots. Very good condition! Her bisque free of hairline or restoration. All original body. She has a very tiny rub nose (almost invisible and very difficult to show on the photo) and wooden chip on the left foot (please look last pictures).
