Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, cobalt blue glass enamel eyes, dark eyeliner, delicately painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips and hint of smile, defined chin, ears pierced into head, mohair wig over cork pate, all wooden body with dowel-jointed articulation at shoulders, elbows and wrists, hip, knees and ankles, and ball-swivel at waist, separately carved fingers and defined toes.
The doll wearing all original silk taffeta two pieces costume (the silk on the jacket very fragile because age), original muslin chemise, vintage leather shoes.
Condition: generally excellent. Her bisque free of hairline, restoration, any damages, fine original body finish.
Marks: P. (head and left shoulder) Bru Jne et Cie (right shoulder).
Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1867, the articulated body model was deposed in 1867, based upon early artist mannequin body styles and construction. Wonderful state of preservation on the lovely fashion doll with rare signed Bru mark for this model.
