15" (38 cm) RARE Gorgeous French Bisque Doll by Steiner with Rare Waltzing Mechanism, c.1865
Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, dark eyeliner, feathered brows, accented nostrils, slightly-parted lips with double row of porcelain teeth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid-over-wooden upper torso, metal upper arms with shoulder jointing, bisque forearms and hands, carton floor-length skirt that encloses the waltzing mechanism, wheeled base. Very beautiful face on the rare early deposed poupee, mechanism functions well, wearing beautiful antique lace gown and coronet of silk flowers. Condition generally excellent. Jules Steiner, his early deposed model, when wound, the lady glides and twirls in a waltz-like and elegant manner, circa 1865. I DO A LAYAWAY! Please email me if you have any questions.
