5" (38 cm.) Beautiful French Fashion Bisque Doll with exclusive commissioned rare Body for the luxury Paris decorative arts store Maison Giroux, 1865.
Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, grey glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, delicately-painted lashes and brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig with coiled braids, stretched-kid over wooden body with shapely torso, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, bisque lower arms and legs with bare feet, wearing beautiful antique ivory satin wedding gown with beaded trim, undergarments, socks, shoes and orange-blossom trimmed coronet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 2 (head and shoulder) F.G. (shoulder) Maison Giroux Paris (original rare boutique paper label on torso).
Very beautiful doll and costume enhanced by rare body with perfect and exquisitely sculpted bisque hands and feet.
