Rare-to-find little girl with appealing anxious expression, pretty costume, underwear, socks, vintage leather shoes. Marks: Paris Bebe Tete Depose 4 (head). Paris Bebe Depose (and Eiffel Tower symbol, body). Danel & Cie, circa 1891, the model was made by that firm for only one year before being forced to cease production by Jumeau; after that the trade name was used by Jumeau. The story of the Jumeau/Danel lawsuit is told in The Jumeau Book by Theimer/Theriault on pages 148-151. 13" (33cm) tall Condition: there is an old very faint short hairline at front crown rim (under wig), otherwise excellent.
