Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,
slender oval face with elongated throat, almond shaped blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, aquiline nose with accented nostrils, closed mouth with enigmatic smile, pierced ears, mohair wig, cork pate, French original Bru kid gusset-jointed body.
Very beautiful quality of sculpting, complexion and painting, antique original brown woolen gown, undergarments, straw hat, vintage leather heeled shoes.

Condition: generally excellent.

Marks: Depose (forehead) G (head and shoulders).

Leon Casimir Bru, deposed model of 1872 is believed to portray the beloved French Empress Eugenie.
Her influence on fashion was most notable and she was highly supportive in the development of textile and lace industries in France, which may have inspired Bru to commission a model of her as a doll.
