11" (28 cm.) Very rare model of Max Handwerck, circa 1918, from the firm's series of googly dolls with sculpted helmets. The doll with excellent quality of bisque and painting, well-detailed glazed hair, endearing smile with dimpled lip corners.
Solid domed bisque socket head with sculpted short brown curls peeking beneath a sculpted Prussian helmet, blue glass side-glancing googly eyes, painted short curly lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils, slightly parted lips in smiling expression, composition and wooden fully jointed body, antique flannel uniform with red stripe, leather boots. Condition: generally excellent. Very tiny chip on the enfd of neck. Marks: Dep Elite D 1. Max Handwerck, circa 1918. I do a layaway. Please email me if you have any questions.
