Standing upon a red velvet-covered base is a bisque head girl with brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, long dark curly lashes, brush-stroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, defined space between the lips, pierced ears, original mohair wig over cork pate, French carton torso and legs, wire upper arms, bisque forearms.
The doll has especially beautiful face with fine creamy complexion, the bebe wears her original Russian silk folklore costume, silk headdress with "jewel" trim and matching necklace, and holds original wooden teapot and cup; music and mechanism function well. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau 4 (head) and original paper label (on base). Leopold Lambert,circa 1888. When wound the doll turns head side to side, and nods, then lifts her right hand, gracefully pouring tea into a cup, then extending her left hand to offer tea; meanwhile music plays.
