Tan silk mariner costume features pleated skirt, the matching middy jacket having slightly flared sides and defined waist, attached panel at the front trimmed with silk bands, very full sleeves, whose cuffs form stitched-down pleats, tan middy collar with lace trim, cotton lining. The jacket closure at the front with pearl buttons.
Good condition to age. France, c.1890. Measures The jacket 11 1/2" (29 cm) length, 7" (18 cm) sleeve, 7" (18 cm) shoulders, free waist. The skirt 11" (28 cm) length, 14" (36 cm) waist.
